Flydubai Introduces Daily Nonstop Link Between Dubai and Pokhara.

Flydubai is expanding its Nepal network by introducing a daily direct service between Dubai and Pokhara, giving travellers a convenient nonstop option to reach the popular Nepalese destination while strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and Nepal.

With the addition of the Pokhara service, flydubai will now operate 35 flights to Nepal each week. The new schedule adds to the airline’s existing network, which already includes four daily services connecting Dubai with Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu.

Flydubai has expanded its Nepal operations with the introduction of daily nonstop services between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Pokhara International Airport (PHH). The new route creates a direct connection between Dubai and western Nepal, giving travellers a more convenient way to reach the region.

Pokhara is now the airline’s second destination in Nepal after Kathmandu. Known for its natural beauty and adventure tourism, the city also serves as an important access point for visitors heading towards the Annapurna mountain region.

The addition of Pokhara has increased flydubai’s overall schedule to Nepal to 35 flights each week. The service operates alongside the airline’s existing four daily flights to Kathmandu, increasing the number of travel options available to passengers while also adding to the airline’s passenger and cargo capacity.

Flydubai has maintained a presence in the Nepal market for many years. Since beginning services to Kathmandu in 2009, the airline has transported more than 4.5 million passengers between Dubai and the Nepalese capital. Around 65 per cent of those travellers have continued their journeys through Dubai, connecting onto the wider flydubai and Emirates networks.

The launch of the Pokhara route is part of the airline’s broader strategy to improve links with markets where direct connectivity remains limited. It also supports Dubai’s role as an international centre for tourism, business and trade by providing another direct route between the UAE and a growing destination in South Asia.

Following the addition of Pokhara, flydubai now serves 20 destinations across South Asia. Its network covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with more than 380 flights operating to the region every week.

The new service further broadens the airline’s reach in South Asia and provides travellers with additional options for reaching destinations beyond the region’s major capital cities.

Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, said Nepal has remained an important part of the airline’s international network since flights to Kathmandu began 17 years ago.

He said the airline’s long-term objective has been to establish a straightforward and direct connection between the UAE and Nepal. According to Sreedharan, the introduction of daily flights to Pokhara builds on that approach by giving passengers a nonstop route to one of Nepal’s key tourism centres.

The new service also provides visitors with easier access to the wider Pokhara region, which is widely recognised for its outdoor activities, mountain scenery and proximity to some of South Asia’s major trekking destinations.

With the addition of Pokhara to its schedule, flydubai is continuing to expand its network beyond major urban centres and strengthen direct links between Dubai and destinations across South Asia.

The first flight on the new route took off from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on September 23. Upon landing at Pokhara International Airport, the aircraft received a traditional water cannon salute to mark the launch of the new service.

The Pokhara route is also covered by flydubai’s codeshare agreement with Emirates, giving passengers additional options when travelling between Nepal and destinations around the world. Through Dubai, travellers can connect to more than 140 cities across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The partnership allows passengers to book their complete journey on a single ticket, while checked luggage can be transferred through to the final destination, making connections at Dubai more convenient.

Several destinations on the flydubai network are popular choices for travellers departing from Nepal. These include Bucharest, Dammam, Jeddah, Muscat and Riyadh, providing passengers with connections to a variety of business, leisure and regional destinations.

At the same time, the Emirates network continues to bring passengers from major international markets into Nepal through Dubai. Among the key feeder destinations are Larnaca, Lisbon, London, New York and Vienna, highlighting the range of international markets that can now connect with Pokhara through the combined flydubai and Emirates network.

The expanded connectivity gives passengers travelling to and from Pokhara greater flexibility, allowing them to combine domestic tourism in Nepal with onward international journeys through Dubai.
