UAE Flight Disruptions: Several Services Cancelled and Delayed at Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Airports

Air travel across the UAE faced a number of disruptions on Wednesday, with several inbound and outbound services cancelled or operating behind schedule. Airlines including Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia and several international carriers were affected by the changes.

The disruptions involved flights operating through Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with both arrivals and departures impacted. A number of services were removed from the schedule altogether, while others continued to operate with revised arrival or departure times.

Despite the cancellations and delays, UAE-based airlines continued to operate a large majority of their scheduled services. Travellers with upcoming flights are advised to monitor their individual booking information and consult their airline’s official website for the latest operational updates before travelling to the airport.

Flight schedules can change at short notice, particularly when airlines make operational adjustments. Passengers should therefore verify their flight status as close to departure as possible.

Travellers advised to check before leaving

The combination of cancellations and delays means passengers travelling through the UAE on Wednesday should confirm their flight details before setting out for the airport.

Airline schedules can be revised during the day, meaning information available earlier may not necessarily reflect the latest departure or arrival time.

Passengers booked on Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia, Etihad Airways, Kenya Airways, Airblue, ATA Airlines, Himalaya Airlines, SpiceJet, Pegasus or other affected carriers should check directly with the relevant airline for the most current information.

Travellers should pay particular attention to their flight number, departure airport, destination and revised timing when checking the status of their journey.

For passengers whose flights have been cancelled, the airline will generally provide information about available options through its official customer-service channels or booking platform.

Those whose flights have been delayed should also confirm the latest expected departure or arrival time before travelling to or from the airport, as schedules can continue to change.

Dubai services affected

The Dubai disruption involved a mixture of regional and international services.

Emirates recorded cancellations and delays involving flights connecting Dubai with Amman, London Heathrow, Cairo and Brisbane.

flydubai had cancellations involving Abha, Kuwait, Basra and Entebbe, while delays were reported on services from Saint Petersburg and Minsk.

Kenya Airways experienced cancellations involving Nairobi services, while another Nairobi-bound service was delayed.

Airblue also cancelled flights connecting Lahore and Dubai.

ATA Airlines experienced cancellations affecting its Tehran service, while Himalaya Airlines cancelled flights linking Dubai with Kathmandu.

The affected routes demonstrate that the operational changes were spread across several international destinations rather than being confined to one particular region.

Sharjah operations

Sharjah International Airport also saw several Air Arabia cancellations.

The affected services included flights to Gassim, Tabuk, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait and Entebbe.

Passengers scheduled to travel on these services were advised to verify their bookings directly with Air Arabia for information regarding the status of their journey.

Abu Dhabi operations

Abu Dhabi was also affected by both cancellations and delays.

AirSial flight PF796 from Lahore was cancelled, while several Etihad Airways services arriving from European destinations experienced delays.

Etihad flights EY064 and EY066 from London Heathrow were both delayed, with the former experiencing a longer delay than the latter.

Flight EY042 from Amsterdam was also operating behind schedule.

These changes affected passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi from key international destinations.

At Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways services EY064, EY066 and EY042 were among the flights experiencing delays.

What passengers should do

Travellers scheduled to fly from or to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah should confirm their flight status before beginning their journey.

Checking the airline’s official website or mobile application is one way passengers can obtain the latest information associated with their booking. Travellers should also check any direct notifications sent by their airline, as changes may be communicated shortly before departure.

Passengers whose services have been cancelled should follow the instructions provided by their airline regarding rebooking, refunds or alternative travel arrangements.

Those travelling on delayed services should similarly confirm the latest timing before heading to the airport, particularly when a significant change has been announced.

Airport information displays and airline customer-service channels can provide additional updates, although passengers should rely primarily on information connected to their specific booking.

UAE aviation operations continue

Although a number of services were cancelled or delayed, UAE airlines continued to operate most of their scheduled flights.

The disruptions affected individual services across several carriers and destinations, rather than bringing UAE aviation operations to a standstill.

The latest information indicates that passengers may encounter different conditions depending on their airline, route and airport.

Travellers departing from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah should therefore check their individual flight details rather than relying solely on general airport information.

With several services affected across the three major UAE aviation hubs, passengers are encouraged to remain alert to further schedule changes throughout the day.

Latest affected services at a glance

The cancellations included flights involving destinations such as Amman, Abha, Kuwait, Basra, Entebbe, Nairobi, Lahore, Tehran, Kathmandu, Gassim, Tabuk, Doha and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, delayed services included flights arriving from London Heathrow, Cairo, Brisbane, Saint Petersburg, Minsk, New Delhi, Kochi, Ankara, Nairobi and Amsterdam.

The length of the delays varied considerably, ranging from less than an hour to several hours. The longest delay listed among the affected Dubai arrivals was SpiceJet flight SG 5118 from Kochi, which was delayed by seven hours and 35 minutes.

Other services experienced shorter delays, including Pegasus flight PC 1708 from Ankara, which was running 43 minutes late, and SpiceJet flight SG 5105 from New Delhi, which was delayed by 50 minutes.

Passengers should note that these timings are subject to further changes. Flight operations can be updated throughout the day as airlines adjust their schedules.

For this reason, travellers should verify the status of their specific service immediately before travelling and remain attentive to notifications from their airline.

The current disruption has affected a range of international routes through Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with cancellations and delays involving both UAE-based carriers and international airlines.

Despite the changes, most scheduled UAE airline operations continue to run, allowing the majority of passengers to proceed with their journeys.

Travellers are encouraged to plan additional time for airport procedures where necessary and to keep their booking information readily available.

For cancelled services, passengers should contact their airline for the latest information regarding rebooking or other available arrangements. For delayed flights, passengers should confirm the revised schedule before making their way to the airport.

The situation remains subject to operational updates, and flight timings may change further during the day.

Passengers flying through Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on Wednesday should therefore continue monitoring their airline’s official channels for the most recent information concerning departures, arrivals, cancellations and delays.
