13th Global Sustainability and CSR Forum urges collective efforts for sustainable development

The 13th Global Sustainability and CSR Forum, organised by the Arabia CSR Network, concluded its two-day event under the theme “Sustainable Growth: Orchestrating a Global Change.” The newly rebranded forum established itself as a truly international platform, urging coordinated action on critical topics such as circular economy initiatives, food security, water collaboration, green finance, sustainable urban planning, and youth empowerment.

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy & Tourism, the forum brought together ministers, UN officials, business executives, academics, and young leaders. Sheikh Eng. Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi emphasised that the forum serves as a leading platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among global experts and institutions, reinforcing collective efforts and supporting progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Keynote addresses featured Eng. Sigit Reliantoro from Indonesia, Bérangère Boëll from the UN, and Sarah Shaw from Majra National CSR Fund, UAE. On day one, sessions focused on regenerative circular economy models, resilient food systems, and cross-border water initiatives, including a youth panel of Emirati entrepreneurs and a fireside chat with Dr Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, Mauritius’ sixth President. Day two explored clean energy transitions, green finance, and sustainable urban development, with experts highlighting the integration of technology, policy, and finance to meet net-zero goals, stressing that sustainable finance balances risk, returns, and resilience.

Habiba Al Mar’ashi, founder and CEO of Arabia CSR Network, described the forum as a “harmonious movement for change”, translating discussions into actionable strategies for a resilient and inclusive future. Other speakers, including Maha Al Gargawi of Dubai Chambers and Dr Yousef Al-Assaf of Rochester Institute of Technology – Dubai, emphasised the need for long-term vision and collaboration. A fireside chat with Eugene Mayne of Tristar Group was also featured.
