Emirates has expanded the ways members of its Skywards loyalty programme can redeem their rewards by introducing a rail booking option for travel across Europe. The newly launched Skywards Rail service allows members to exchange their accumulated Skywards Miles for train tickets, opening access to an extensive railway network that connects more than 12,000 destinations throughout the continent.
With this addition, Skywards members are no longer limited to redeeming Miles for flights, hotel stays or other travel-related benefits. Instead, they can use their rewards to plan rail journeys across a wide range of European cities and regions, making it easier to combine air and rail travel within a single trip. The service is designed to give travellers greater flexibility, particularly those looking to explore destinations beyond major airports.
According to the airline’s loyalty programme, Skywards Rail provides access to the services of more than 40 railway operators operating across 12 European countries. The network includes a variety of train options, ranging from local domestic routes to international cross-border connections and high-speed rail services. This broad coverage enables travellers to reach major metropolitan hubs as well as smaller towns and scenic destinations using Europe’s well-developed railway infrastructure.
Members can make bookings directly through the Skywards Rail platform using either a desktop browser or a mobile device. The booking process enables users to search available train schedules, compare departure and arrival times, and choose the option that best suits their travel plans. Travellers can also select their preferred travel class and ticket type before completing the reservation.
To provide greater flexibility, the payment system supports multiple redemption methods. Members who have sufficient Skywards Miles can pay the full fare using their rewards, while those with a smaller balance can combine Miles with cash through the Cash + Miles option.
