Flights serving countries that have experienced renewed attacks linked to the wider US-Iran conflict have faced delays, diversions, and cancellations in recent days.

Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan have been among the countries experiencing the greatest impact following the breakdown of a temporary pause in hostilities between the United States and Iran. The renewed instability has created challenges for airlines operating routes across the Gulf, forcing carriers to regularly review flight plans based on the latest security assessments.

Diplomatic efforts are continuing in an attempt to reduce tensions. Reuters reported that mediators involved in the conflict were working on a possible 10-day ceasefire proposal aimed at easing the situation and restoring elements of the temporary agreement reached earlier in June. However, until a more permanent arrangement is achieved, airlines and passengers remain cautious about travel plans in the region.

Compared with some neighbouring countries, aviation operations in the UAE have remained relatively stable. Most flights have continued to operate as scheduled, although disruptions have increased in recent days. On Monday, 16 flights were cancelled amid the ongoing security situation, marking one of the more significant interruptions faced by UAE travellers since the latest escalation began.

Airlines operating from UAE airports have continued monitoring developments closely and adjusting services where necessary. Carriers have advised passengers to check flight schedules before travelling, as operational changes may occur depending on airport conditions, airspace restrictions, or security requirements.

Kuwait flight disruptions

Travel between the UAE and Kuwait has been among the routes affected by the recent developments. Etihad Airways announced that some flights connecting Abu Dhabi and Kuwait International Airport were cancelled due to operational considerations.

The airline suspended services between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Kuwait International Airport, including flights EY653 and EY654, with cancellations extending into Monday. Passengers travelling on affected routes were advised to seek updated information from the airline regarding revised arrangements.

The disruption came as Kuwait, along with other Gulf countries, experienced heightened security concerns following renewed regional hostilities. Airlines have been required to evaluate routes carefully while maintaining passenger safety as the highest priority.

Impact on Bahrain services

Flights between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain were also affected after temporary restrictions influenced airport operations. Etihad service EY641 from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain International Airport faced a significant delay on Monday following the closure of the Bahrain airport.

The return service, EY642, operating from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi, was also expected to experience delays. According to airport information, the outbound flight remained delayed for several hours as authorities managed the operational impact.

The disruption follows earlier challenges affecting flights to Bahrain. On Thursday, an Etihad aircraft travelling toward Bahrain was diverted and returned to Abu Dhabi after conditions at the destination airport required changes to the flight plan.

Such diversions are part of standard aviation procedures when airports face temporary closures, security concerns, or operational restrictions. Airlines typically assess conditions in real time and make decisions based on guidance from aviation authorities and safety teams.

Passengers advised to monitor updates

With the regional situation continuing to evolve, travellers across the Gulf have been encouraged to remain flexible and monitor official airline announcements before heading to airports. Airlines may introduce further changes depending on developments on the ground and updates from aviation authorities.

Travel experts say passengers should allow additional time for potential delays and keep communication details updated with airlines so they can receive immediate notifications about schedule changes.

The latest disruptions highlight the vulnerability of regional air connectivity during periods of geopolitical uncertainty. Gulf airports serve as major international transit points, and even limited disruptions can affect thousands of passengers travelling between the Middle East and destinations worldwide.

While UAE airports have largely maintained normal operations, airlines continue to remain alert as the security environment changes. The industry is closely watching diplomatic efforts and hopes that renewed negotiations will help restore stability and reduce pressure on regional travel networks.

Airlines Adjust Gulf Schedules as Regional Security Concerns Affect Selected Routes

Several airlines operating from the UAE have introduced temporary changes to their flight schedules as regional security concerns continue to affect air travel. While most services remain operational, some routes connecting the UAE with neighbouring countries have experienced cancellations, delays, or revised timings.

Airlines have advised passengers to check the latest updates before travelling, as schedules may change depending on airport conditions, operational requirements, and developments affecting regional aviation.

Etihad Airways services

Etihad Airways reported disruption to one of its services between Abu Dhabi and the United States. Flight EY011, operating from Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), experienced delays on Monday due to operational considerations.

The corresponding return service, EY012, travelling from Chicago back to Abu Dhabi, was also expected to operate behind schedule. Passengers affected by the delay were advised to follow airline notifications for updated departure information and revised travel arrangements.

Emirates operations

Emirates has also adjusted services on selected Gulf routes. Flights connecting Dubai International Airport with Kuwait International Airport were affected, with several services cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.

The cancelled flights included EK853, EK855, EK857, and EK859. The changes came as Kuwait remained among the destinations facing disruptions linked to the wider regional security situation.

Services between Dubai and Bahrain have also been impacted. Emirates flights EK835, EK837, and EK839 connecting Dubai with Bahrain International Airport were cancelled from Saturday onwards.

The disruption followed reports of security-related incidents affecting Bahrain’s aviation environment. According to the Bahrain News Agency, the country faced repeated drone attacks targeting civil aviation navigation systems and air traffic operations, creating additional challenges for flight movements.

flydubai schedule changes

Low-cost carrier flydubai also experienced changes on Bahrain routes. Flights departing from Dubai International Airport to Bahrain International Airport were among those affected.

Services FZ023, FZ021, and FZ029 were cancelled on Monday, while flight FZ029 had already been cancelled on Sunday. Some flights were expected to resume operations on Tuesday, subject to further updates and operational conditions.

Passengers travelling with flydubai were encouraged to confirm their flight status before arriving at the airport, as schedules remained subject to change.

Air Arabia flight updates

Air Arabia reported changes across several destinations, including Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.

On the UAE-Kuwait route, flight 3L020 from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait International Airport was cancelled on Tuesday. Another service, 3L022, experienced delays after arriving late on Sunday but was expected to operate according to schedule on Monday and Tuesday.

The airline also reported changes involving flights from Sharjah International Airport. Services G9068 and G9124 were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday, while flight G9121 arrived slightly behind schedule on Monday and was expected to continue operations the following day.

Flights between the UAE and Bahrain saw minor delays rather than widespread cancellations. Air Arabia service 3L015 arrived a few minutes late on Sunday and Monday, while later flights were expected to operate normally. Another Bahrain-bound service, 3L017, was also scheduled to arrive on time.

Qatar route disruptions

Air Arabia flights connecting the UAE with Doha International Airport were also affected. Services G9040, G9130, and G9027 were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.

However, several other flights continued operating normally, including G9081, G9135, G9132, and G9138, providing continued connectivity between the UAE and Qatar.

Passengers advised to monitor airline announcements

With regional conditions changing rapidly, airlines continue to review their operations and make adjustments when required. Aviation authorities and carriers are prioritising passenger safety while working to maintain services wherever possible.

Travellers with upcoming flights have been advised to check airline websites, mobile applications, and official notifications for the latest information before departing for airports.

The disruptions demonstrate how regional developments can quickly affect aviation networks, particularly in the Gulf, where major airports serve as important international transit hubs. Airlines are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as operational conditions evolve.

Flight operations between the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait have been disrupted as escalating regional tensions force airlines to cancel selected services, leaving travellers facing delays, schedule changes and uncertainty.

[12,9
["post-45932","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-uae","pmpro-has-access
["GET
