Authorities have advised commuters in New Delhi to steer clear of Netaji Subhash Marg, from Chatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut, near the site of the explosion, due to traffic diversions and restrictions, according to IANS.<\/p>

The advisory, effective from 6:00 AM IST, is expected to remain in place throughout the day.<\/p>

Early inquiries into the car explosion near the Red Fort indicate it could be a terrorist act, Delhi Police sources told IANS on Monday night.<\/p>

‘The powerful blast seems connected to a module previously recovered in Faridabad and may have involved a combination of explosives and chemicals. He explosion caused injuries to several pedestrians and damaged nearby vehicles. Initial reports suggest there have been fatalities. Within ten minutes of receiving the alert, teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch reached the site.<\/p>

‘NSG and NIA teams, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory, have launched a detailed investigation. Orders have been issued to review all CCTV footage in the vicinity. I have also spoken with the Delhi Police Commissioner and the officer in charge of the Special Branch, both of whom are present at the scene,’ Shah stated.<\/p>

The minister added that he would be visiting the hospital shortly.<\/p>

‘We are examining every possible angle and conducting a comprehensive probe. All leads will be thoroughly investigated, and the findings will be shared with the public.
