Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the entrance from Ras\u202fal\u202fKhor\u202fRoad leading into International\u202fCity\u202f1 will be closed as part of the second phase of the Dubai\u202fMetro\u202fBlue\u202fLine construction.     In addition to the traffic changes around International City\u202f1, other localities are seeing diversions because of work on the Dubai Metro Blue Line. At Centrepoint Station, for example, the access road from Airport\u202fRoad to the multi\u2011level car park has been shut. Drivers are urged to follow signage on\u2011site and select alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.Earlier, the Roads and Transport Authority flagged diversions in Academic City during the metro construction, and likewise in Mirdif \u2014 encouraging travellers to plan ahead and use different routes. The RTA recommends motorists set off early, steer clear of rush\u2011hour windows, and observe new directional boards installed in impacted zones. Staying updated and adjusting travel plans can help minimise delays during the build period.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Dubai\u2019s Metro system is undergoing a major upgrade with the launch of the Blue Line project \u2014 a 30-kilometre extension that will add 14 new stations and introduce 28 additional trains. Once completed, the total network will cover 131 kilometres and consist of 78 stations.This large-scale initiative, valued at Dh20.5 billion, is forecast to generate over Dh56 million in returns. It is anticipated to serve approximately 200,000 passengers daily by 2030, with numbers expected to grow to 320,000 by 2040.<\/p>

    Designed to accommodate 46,000 commuters per hour in both directions, the line aims to ease congestion on key city routes by as much as 20%. The Blue Line will link nine vital urban areas \u2014 including Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City (Phases 1 and 2), Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Dubai Festival City \u2014 regions identified in the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan as home to more than one million residents.Travel time along the Blue Line corridor is expected to range between 10 to 25 minutes, offering a fast and efficient alternative to road transport.The route will feature 14 stops, including three major interchange stations: Creek Station (connecting to the Green Line at Al Jaddaf), Centrepoint Station (linking with the Red Line at Al Rashidiya), and a dedicated Blue Line stop at International City 1. Additionally, a signature station will be built in Dubai Creek Harbour.
