UAE denounces attempted attack on Vladimir Putin’s home

The UAE strongly criticised an alleged attempt to target Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence, reaffirming its rejection of violence and stressing the importance of respecting sovereignty and international law.

The United Arab Emirates has forcefully denounced the reported attempt to attack the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing the act as reprehensible and warning of the serious risks it poses to regional and global security.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the UAE stands in full solidarity with President Putin, as well as the Russian government and its citizens. The ministry reiterated the country’s firm stance against violence in all its forms, emphasising that such actions threaten peace, stability and the foundations of international security.

The UAE’s statement highlighted the importance of protecting political leaders and diplomatic symbols, noting that attacks on such targets can escalate tensions far beyond national borders. Officials stressed that safeguarding leaders’ residences is not only a matter of personal security but also a cornerstone of maintaining political stability and preventing wider unrest. The ministry warned that acts targeting heads of state often carry broader implications, potentially provoking retaliation or diplomatic fallout. By condemning the incident, the UAE reaffirmed its belief that disputes and grievances must be addressed through dialogue, diplomacy and respect for international norms, rather than through violence or intimidation.

The condemnation also reflects the UAE’s long-standing foreign policy approach, which prioritises de-escalation, peaceful coexistence and respect for sovereignty. The country has consistently called for restraint during periods of heightened geopolitical tension, urging all parties to avoid actions that could inflame conflicts. In this context, the UAE reiterated its position that the security of nations is interconnected, and destabilising acts in one country can have ripple effects across regions. The ministry underlined that international cooperation and adherence to the rule of law remain essential to countering threats that undermine collective security.

Diplomatic sources noted that the UAE maintains constructive relations with Russia across various sectors, including trade, energy and international cooperation. The statement of solidarity was therefore also seen as an affirmation of bilateral ties and mutual respect between the two countries. At the same time, officials clarified that the condemnation was rooted in principle rather than politics, reflecting a broader rejection of violence regardless of the target or location. The UAE emphasised that protecting civilian lives, state institutions and leaders is fundamental to ensuring long-term stability in an increasingly volatile global environment.

The ministry further called on the international community to unite against acts that threaten peace and security, urging countries to strengthen mechanisms that prevent political violence. It stressed the need for intelligence sharing, coordinated security measures and diplomatic engagement to address emerging threats before they escalate. By speaking out, the UAE sought to reinforce a collective message that attacks on leadership figures are unacceptable and counterproductive. Such incidents, officials said, only deepen divisions and distract from urgent global challenges that require cooperation, including economic stability, humanitarian concerns and conflict resolution.

Concluding its remarks, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts that promote stability, tolerance and peaceful dialogue worldwide. The country pledged to continue working with regional and international partners to counter extremism and violence in all forms. The ministry reiterated that lasting security can only be achieved through mutual respect, diplomacy and adherence to international law. By condemning the attempted attack, the UAE underscored its belief that peace and stability remain shared responsibilities, requiring consistent action and collective resolve from the global community.
