“Dubai Boasts 7 of the World’s 10 Tallest Hotels”

“Dubai is home to seven of the ten tallest hotels across the globe, showcasing the city’s remarkable skyline, architectural ambition, and its status as a premier destination for luxury and innovation.”

“Dubai hosts seven of the ten tallest hotels worldwide, a reflection of its status as a major tourist hotspot and a hub for extraordinary architectural feats. Alongside the iconic Burj Khalifa, the city’s skyline features striking structures such as the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab and the Emirates Towers, among others, making it a showcase of modern design and innovation.”

“The newest entrant on the list of the world’s tallest hotels claims the top spot. Ciel Dubai Marina, opening for bookings on November 15, 2025, is set to become a standout icon in Dubai. Rising 377 metres in the Dubai Marina, this luxury lifestyle hotel features more than 800 rooms, eight dining venues, three outdoor pools—including the world’s highest infinity pool—a state-of-the-art spa, and a fully equipped gym.”

The holder of the world’s tallest hotel record before it was broken by Ciel Dubai Marina, the Gevora Hotel cuts an impressive figure on Sheikh Zayed Road, the road that runs through the heart of Dubai.

This hotel, with its gleaming gold structure, stands at 356 metres. It was opened in 2018 after 12 years of construction, and has 528 rooms spread over 75 floors.

“Occupying the third spot on the list, this hotel soars 355 metres and is managed by Marriott International. When it opened in 2012, it held the distinction of being the world’s tallest hotel. Originally intended as a single tower, the JW Marriott Marquis was redesigned to feature twin towers, with an exterior that draws inspiration from the textured surface of date palm trees.”

“Leaving Dubai behind on this list, we come to Shimao International Plaza in Shanghai, China. Soaring 333.3 metres, the skyscraper accommodates the luxury Conrad Shanghai hotel on its upper levels. Finished in 2006, the building also includes a shopping mall and several clubs, making it a bustling hub of activity.”

“Returning to Dubai, along Sheikh Zayed Road, is the Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, narrowly missing the fourth spot on this list by just 0.3 metres. This 333-metre hotel is well-known among locals for its striking blue-and-silver exterior. Its intricate rooftop design resembles intertwined rose petals. Opened in 2009, the hotel offers 462 rooms, suites, and penthouses.”

“The Burj Al Arab, instantly recognizable for its sail-shaped design inspired by a traditional dhow, has become a symbol of Dubai. Perched on an artificial island off the city’s coast, the 280-metre luxury hotel features a helipad at its apex. From the engineering feat of land reclamation to its striking and unique silhouette, it is celebrated as a true architectural masterpiece.”

“Housed in the shorter of the Emirates Towers, this 309-metre hotel is another iconic feature of Dubai’s skyline. Completed in 2000, the luxury property offers 400 rooms across 56 floors. The towers are set within expansive, landscaped grounds, complete with water features and roaming peacocks, creating a serene urban retreat.”

It’s fitting that the list both begins and concludes in Dubai. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, this 294-metre hotel is a well-known landmark situated beside the Museum of the Future.”
