Dubai RTA Restores Four Bus Routes to Global Village for Season 31, Electric Abras to Return
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the return of four dedicated bus services to Global Village as the popular entertainment destination prepares to open its 31st season on October 14, 2026. The transport services will provide direct links between the attraction and several major bus stations across Dubai, making it easier for residents, tourists and families to plan their visits.
The new season is scheduled to continue until May 2027. During this period, buses will operate at intervals ranging from 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the route. In addition to the road transport services, visitors will once again be able to enjoy rides on environmentally friendly electric abras within Global Village.
Four Bus Routes to Connect Global Village with Major Stations
According to the RTA, the dedicated bus network will connect Global Village with four important transport hubs: Al Rashidiya, Union, Al Ghubaiba and Mall of the Emirates. The services are intended to offer convenient travel options for visitors arriving from different parts of the emirate.
The four routes and their operating frequencies are as follows:
- Route 102: Connects Al Rashidiya Bus Station with Global Village, with departures every 60 minutes.
- Route 103: Runs between Union Bus Station and Global Village, with buses available every 40 minutes.
- Route 104: Links Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Global Village, operating at 60-minute intervals.
- Route 106: Connects Mall of the Emirates Bus Station with the attraction, with departures every 60 minutes.
These services will allow passengers to reach Global Village through Dubai’s public transport network without relying entirely on private cars or taxis.
Improved Access for Residents and Tourists
The RTA said the bus arrangements are intended to improve access to Global Village for people travelling from different neighbourhoods and transport connections across Dubai. The direct routes are particularly useful for families, international tourists and residents who prefer public transportation when visiting major leisure destinations.
The buses are equipped with modern facilities and safety features to support comfortable journeys throughout the season. Their scheduled departures also give visitors several options for planning their trips, although passengers should check the latest service timings before travelling.
The initiative is part of the RTA’s wider efforts to strengthen public transport connections to major tourism, shopping and entertainment destinations across the emirate. Providing dedicated services during Global Village’s operating season is also intended to make visits more convenient during periods of high visitor demand.
Electric Abra Rides to Resume at Global Village
Alongside the four bus routes, the RTA will bring back its tourist water transport service at Global Village. Two electric abras will operate within the attraction, offering visitors an alternative way to explore its waterways.
The traditional abra-style boats, powered by electricity, will provide leisure rides with views of Global Village’s attractions, facilities and entertainment areas. The service gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy a sightseeing experience while travelling along the destination’s waterways.
The use of electric vessels also supports the authority’s efforts to encourage cleaner transport alternatives and promote sustainable mobility. By combining leisure activities with environmentally friendly transport, the service adds another experience for visitors during the new season.
Global Village Prepares for the 2026–2027 Season
Global Village is scheduled to reopen on October 14, 2026, and remain open until May 2027. The destination is expected to attract visitors from across the UAE and overseas, with its international pavilions, cultural experiences, shopping areas, food outlets and entertainment offerings.
The return of dedicated buses and electric abra services forms part of the transport arrangements supporting the upcoming season. These options will give visitors different ways to reach and explore the destination while helping strengthen connections between Global Village and Dubai’s wider transport network.
The RTA said the arrangements are aimed at improving convenience for visitors and supporting the emirate’s tourism industry. By providing direct bus links and restoring electric water transport, the authority is seeking to make travel to the attraction more accessible while encouraging greater use of public transportation.
Visitors planning to attend Global Village can use the four dedicated bus routes from the designated stations. Checking the latest RTA schedules and service updates before departure is advisable to ensure a smooth journey.
