Partly Cloudy Weather Expected Across the UAE, Fog Likely

Partly cloudy conditions are expected across the UAE, with temperatures remaining moderate. Residents should be cautious as fog may form in some areas, especially during early morning hours.

According to information shared by Insider18, residents across the United Arab Emirates can expect generally calm and pleasant weather conditions on Friday, January 2, as the country experiences fair to partly cloudy skies throughout the day.

Weather officials from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) indicate that cloud cover will be light to moderate, allowing for plenty of sunshine across most regions. These conditions are typical for this time of year and are expected to create comfortable outdoor weather for residents and visitors alike.

However, humidity levels are predicted to rise later in the day, particularly during the evening and into the early hours of Saturday morning. Coastal locations and some inland areas may experience increased moisture in the air, which could lead to the development of fog or mist. Motorists traveling during late night or early morning hours are advised to remain alert, as reduced visibility may occur in certain locations.

Temperatures across the UAE are expected to trend slightly upward compared to previous days. In Abu Dhabi, daytime temperatures are forecast to reach around 24°C, while nighttime lows may drop to approximately 16°C. Similarly, Dubai is likely to experience a daytime high of 25°C, with temperatures falling to about 16°C after sunset. These moderate temperatures reflect the milder winter season and provide a welcome break from the extreme heat typically experienced during summer months.

Other parts of the country will experience comparable conditions, with slight variations depending on geographical location. Inland regions may feel marginally cooler during the night, while coastal areas could remain warmer due to higher humidity levels. Mountainous areas, as usual, may see slightly lower temperatures, especially after dark.

Wind conditions on Friday are expected to remain mostly gentle to moderate. The winds will primarily blow from the southwesterly to northwesterly directions, contributing to relatively stable weather conditions. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 10 km/h and 20 km/h for most of the day. However, in some areas, occasional stronger gusts could reach speeds of up to 35 km/h, particularly during the afternoon.

While these winds are not expected to cause major disruptions, they may stir up light dust in open or desert areas. Residents with respiratory sensitivities are encouraged to take precautions if they plan to spend extended periods outdoors during breezier conditions.

Sea conditions are also expected to remain manageable. In the Arabian Gulf, the sea state is forecast to be slight to moderate, making it generally safe for marine activities such as fishing and recreational boating. In the Oman Sea, waters are expected to remain slight, offering favorable conditions for maritime operations. Nevertheless, authorities advise seafarers to stay updated with the latest marine advisories and exercise caution when venturing out.

The combination of mild temperatures, partial cloud cover, and calm seas makes Friday an ideal day for outdoor plans, beach visits, and family activities. Parks, waterfront areas, and open spaces are likely to see increased footfall as residents take advantage of the comfortable weather.

At the same time, experts urge the public to remain mindful of changing conditions, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours when humidity and fog may affect visibility. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, maintain safe distances, and use fog lights where necessary.

Overall, the UAE’s weather on Friday reflects a balanced winter pattern—pleasant during the day, slightly humid at night, and largely stable across land and sea. As always, residents are encouraged to follow official updates from meteorological authorities and trusted news platforms such as Insider18 to stay informed about any changes in weather conditions.
